Founder’s Welcome

The Diversity, Equity and Diversity landscape in the government has changed in recent years. Slowly, more government agencies have understood the value of DEI to innovation, recruiting, retaining and developing a competitive workforce in today’s global environment. As the needs of our communities evolve, government agencies are seeking innovative solutions to deliver exceptional value. By embracing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), government agencies can cultivate more innovative and responsive teams. These teams will be better equipped to connect with the increasingly diverse communities they serve. Leaders who champion DEI will foster a government that builds stronger relationships with the public and reflects the vibrant tapestry of our nation.

While the government lags behind in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) compared to other sectors, a growing recognition exists that a more diverse workforce leads to better outcomes. Talent comes in all shades and it is important that the government has the tools, resources, and education to prepare its leaders to focus on taking on a multi-cultural workplace. There is a paradigm shift from a monolithic culture to one that is multi-cultural and inclusive. It is incumbent upon leaders to educate themselves as to why DEI is important, not just for the government, but for individuals.

With that being said, I would like to welcome you to the Government Diversity & Inclusion Council where we want to be top promoter of DEI in the government by assisting them in creating real change and measurable progress with recruitment, training, and coaching. I strongly believe that creating an intentional and inclusive workplace environment is crucial for government agencies. Everyone deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and contribute their best work.

DEI is not something you fix, it’s a path. Let’s work together in creating viable initiatives that will lead to real change in the government.

Cordially,

Dennis Kennedy
